Ah Yung Kitchen is the second restaurant by Hong Kong Michelin star Chef Ah Yung, serving refined Cantonese cuisine. The design is inspired by traditional Chinese teahouse accented with begonia floral motifs, light wood screens, and Chinese lantern inspired lightings.
Fusing contemporary style with traditional Chinese motifs, our design draws inspiration of a Chinese teahouse complementing the cuisine. Often regarded as a place of sanctuary, the teahouse concept creates a sanctuary to savor Chef Ah Yung’s culinary wonders. The light toned wood screen accented with gold stainless steel details provides a comforting environment for guests to appreciate their food. The begonia floral motif is inspired by the chinaware, a symbol of auspiciousness, where we pay homage to the fine ingredients of Chef Ah Yung, showcasing his expertise in refined Cantonese cuisine. The color palette of the restaurant creates a tranquil environment highlighted with hints of green from the wall art to echo nature. The texture and lighting of the Chinese lantern inspired pendant lights play with the transparency of lighting patterns.
Ah Yung Kitchen balances design and operations by incorporating ornate service stations and storage spaces for service operations. The brand identity of Ah Yung Kitchen is heavily influenced by the begonia floral motif found throughout the intimate teahouse sanctuary of Chef Ah Yung.
